The Overseas Highway in Florida stretches over 100 miles from the mainland near Miami to the southernmost Key West. It connects the Keys along the way, with plenty of gift shops and restaurants for road trippers.
Floating over the limitless stretch of turquoise water and blue sky as far as the eye can see is an incredible experience itself, and there’s no reason to rush. Stop in the dive capital of the world, Key Largo, and visit John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. If diving isn’t your thing, the park has an aquarium and glass-bottom boat tours. As you continue your drive along the Overseas Highway in Florida, you’ll find plenty more diving spots, museums, and attractions.
