With all of our amazing beaches, parks and small towns, it’s no wonder Florida has a real reputation for relaxation. There are endless stress-relieving and fun activities to enjoy, but here are a few of our favorites:
1. Enjoy one of our beautiful beaches.
Go swimming, take a long walk, or just relax and take in the view.
2. Dine al fresco.
We have great weather in Florida for dining outdoors almost year-round.
3. Float down a lazy river.
Florida has plenty of rivers, lakes and springs for all kinds of fun and relaxing outdoor activities.
4. Go shopping with friends.
Though shopping is not very relaxing to me this time of year, a lot of people are very fond of retail therapy.
5. Stroll through a charming small town.
We love our small towns in Florida for all of their history, art, antiques, quirky charm, and proximity to nature.
6. Put up your Gone Fishing sign.
Fishing is a very popular pastime in Florida. There's nothing more peaceful and relaxing than a day of fishing.
7. Visit a theme park...without the kids.
You might have never thought of visiting a theme park after the kids have flown the coop, but most parks have plenty of fun activities grown ups can appreciate. Plus, it's a great opportunity to feel like a kid again.
8. Try out some yoga moves.
Yoga is very popular in our state, and you will have no trouble finding a yoga studio near you. Many people swear by it as the best way to relax and unwind.
9. Play a relaxing round of golf.
Florida has the most golf courses in the country for a reason. It's the perfect way to relax and have fun outdoors.
10. Visit a ranch or farm for a relaxing weekend.
Ranches and farms like the Smoakhouse Ranch in Branford offer the perfect blend of rest and relaxation.
11. Visit a museum
I don't know about you, but the peace and quiet of walking through a museum always helps me relax. Pictured is the Orlando Museum of Art.
12. Visit one of our many state parks.
Camping, swimming, canoeing, hiking, biking and even horseback riding surrounded by Florida's natural beauty at one of our many, many parks is relaxation at its finest. Pictured is DeLeon Springs State Park.
