Learn how to spot a riptide, follow life guards' orders, and learn how to swim out of a rip tide if you are caught in the undertow.

Wilmington is a small city with plenty of dangerous neighborhoods. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to clean up this city and make it safer for residents, but in the meantime, stick to Trolley Square, Rodney Square, and the Riverfront if you visit our largest city.

Sorry, OCMD - but you can keep your 'Seacrets' to yourself! Sure, it's a great resort town, but why head south when you've got Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Fenwick Island and Lewes? We'll stay in Delaware, thanks!

If you must drive south on a Friday afternoon in the summer, be prepared for a long haul. Beach traffic gets really bad here, and there aren't many ways to avoid it. Try leaving very early in the morning, or heading down late at night for your best chance to avoid a bumper-to-bumper mess.

If you live in Delaware, you better get your holiday shopping done early. The Christiana Mall is nearly unrecognizable in December, when floods of out-of-staters flock to our shopping malls to pick up tax-free goods. The lines are long, parking is impossible, and it's just a headache that can be easily avoided... by shopping earlier.
