12 Restaurants In Delaware With Fries So Good They Should Be The Main Course

The Gate House in Lewes serves my favorite truffle fries in Delaware, mostly because they do the whole small-fry thing right. I'm not a fan of gigantic steak fries that are more like potato wedges, and The Gate House found the perfect potato-to-edge ratio here. Plus, they're not overwhelmingly truffly, like so many of their rivals.

33 West in Dover is the place to go for poutine in Kent County. They really do it up - try the braised beef poutine for a fry dish that'll leave you so full, and so happy.

Of course, Delaware's best fish and chips spot would have some amazing, uh, chips. The British take on fries is pretty classic and pretty standard - and absolutely delicious.

Two Stones Pub is regularly voted as the spot with the Best Fries in Delaware, and when you try their specialities, like the spicy sweet potato fries pictured above, you'll immediatley understand why.

The Keg Fries at Stone Balloon Ale House will have you coming back again and again. This main street pub is one of the more upscale places on our list, but I would still go there just to down an order of these gooey potatoes on my own.

Yeah, World Cafe Live is mainly a music venue, but they take their fries so seriously that there's no way I was leaving them out. Unbelievable eggplant fries are my favorite, but they also completely dominated the sweet potato fry trend with their perfectly crisp, perfectly salted take on the side. Oh, and their white truffle oil fries were named best in Delaware by Delaware Today's upstate editors.

Ulysses constantly surprises me, because this little strip mall gastropub just pulls out amazing dish after amazing dish. Their cheese curd poutine is no exception - it's reminiscinent of poutine I've eaten in Montreal and Madison, WI.

14 Global is a little tapas place in Bethany Beach, and their truffle fries are one of the most frequently ordered small plates. They're so well cut, seasoned and fried, that it's no surprise that almost every review of 14 Global praised their take on some deliciously truffly potatoes.

The Pickled Pig Pub in Rehoboth Beach makes incredible poutine, too, and the fries that accompany the gravy and cheese are always crispy and salted perfectly. The Pub features all sorts of amazing cheeses, too, which go well with any of their fry dishes.
