Here Are 12 Things Everyone In Delaware Absolutely Loves

Delawareans can disagree about a lot – like whether it’s a hoagie or a sub – but there are a few things that we really can all get behind. Do you fit the Delaware stereotype? Read the dozen items below and find out!

1. We LOVE Memorial Day - open up the beaches!

2. But we also love Labor Day - go home tourists, it's local summer now.

3. Speaking of summer... Thrashers and Vinegar, please!

4. And Dolles Salt Water Taffy! It wouldn't be a trip to the beach without it.

5. Speaking of beach - Delawareans just can't get by without sand and salt air.

6. We're not always peaceful, though! We love arguing about where Slower Lower (or is it Lower Slower?) Delaware starts.

7. We may not agree on hoagie vs sub, but we can agree that the Bobbie is the best of the bunch.

8. You had to know this was coming. Scrapple is the breakfast meat of Delaware!

9. Oh hey there, YouDee - Delawareans love you!

10. You know that feeling when you get out of work early and beat the traffic? Yeah, that. We love that.

11. The DuPont Mansions, of course. I could spend hours wandering through Winterthur's grounds.

12. Finally, we love our festivals! From the Bacon Festival this weekend to Apple Scrapple in the fall, we'll come out for any occasion.

If loving all of these things means I fit the Delaware stereotype, then count me in as a true Delawarean! I can’t wait for all of the amazing food festivals in Delaware this year!
