The United States Botanic Garden is one of the oldest botanic gardens in North America.
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison all shared a dream of a national botanic garden but the institution wasn't established until 1820.
It offers a diverse array of plants and is a living plant museum. It promotes the importance of plants and teaches visitors about sustainable practices.
