Located in Pueblo, Mauro Farms is a small family owned and operated bakery that has been selling fresh produce and warm baked goods since 1981. What began with a grandmother’s secret potica recipe quickly expanded to other breads, cookies, pies, and more. As per their website, “We have added other favorite recipes including the Italian cookies, biscotti, homemade cookies, and candies. All of our products are made by hand from scratch – we take pride in our products and strive to keep a high standard of quality. Only using all-natural ingredients right down to the littlest detail, we even grow some of the ingredients ourselves: pumpkins, rhubarb, & zucchini. The fruit used in our sweet breads and pies are from Colorado grown farms and the walnuts in the Potica are from a small family farm just like us.” It is for these reasons and more that we recommend traveling south the visit this charming family-owned shop and farm, which is sure to ruin you of all other baked goods for life.
