As you’re all well aware, the world is full of bad people who do bad things on a regular basis. Lucky for us (and for law enforcement,) these bad people also do stupid things on a regular basis, making them easy to find. Here are 7 of these dumb Colorado criminals who will have you shaking your head.
1.) A 68-year-old Denver man was arrested less than 5 hours after robbing a bank.
The man wore a shirt with his name on during the robbery and then used his own car for the getaway.
2.) A 27-year-old male under house arrest decided that not even his court ordered ankle bracelet could keep from burglarizing over a dozen homes around Arapaho County.
He was originally arrested for only one of the crimes, but police were able to tie him to the others because of that pesky GPS monitor.
3.) A 33-year-old Longmont man was arrested for impersonating a cop inside of an adult video store.
The kicker? He was an “age verification detective" who needed to watch copies of the films to make sure the actors were of legal age.
4.) A Colorado Springs man was arrested after robbing a corner store of money and an expensive bottle of scotch.
Investigators were able to track down the man in less than 2 hours after the thief showed the (unbelieving) clerk his ID in order to prove he was old enough to drink the stolen scotch.
5.) A Colorado man was arrested after befriending the woman whose house he'd robbed on Facebook.
Not a good idea when the homeowner actually saw your face.
6.) A Fort Collins man was arrested after breaking in to a local theater...
...and leaving a folder full of his court documents at the scene.
7.) A Denver woman was arrested after skipping jury duty and then bragging about it on the radio.
At least she knew better than to talk about it on Facebook?
Stupid is as stupid does.
