Situated on the east shore of Lake Ouachita, (also known as the Striped Bass Capital of the World) , this state park is a weekend paradise for those who want to get away from the city—but not too far—for an amazing time. A reservoir that was created by the damming of the Ouachita River by Blakely Mountain Dam, Lake Ouachita is Arkansas’s largest lake that completely sits within the state’s boundaries. It has been recognized as one of the cleanest and crystal-clear lakes in America. The Lake Ouachita State Park is the perfect choice for vacationers who enjoy boating, fishing and other fun activities on the water.

Lake Ouachita State Park’s campgrounds feature 101 campsites, 26 of which have recently undergone renovation. Cabins at the park come fully equipped. Seven of the cabins overlook beautiful Lake Ouachita and one provides an amazing view of the woods. Outdoors lovers and hikers will surely want to get out and explore the surrounding Ozark National Forest!
