Now that October is in full swing, you might be looking for a few ways to give yourself a good fright. Horror movies are convenient and haunted house attractions are popular but if you want to get a real sense of a spine-tingling atmosphere then a ghost tour might be just the attraction you’re looking for.
Arizona is home to a large number of haunted places (thanks to our state’s violent, grisly history) so today we’re going to take a look at a few that will creep you out. And if you don’t believe in ghosts, this gives you a chance to walk around a new town and explore some of the historic places in a way that you probably wouldn’t have before.
Home to Whiskey Row and Arizona’s first capital, Prescott is a good place to start when it comes to learning more about the history of the Old West. This two-hour tour takes you through downtown Prescott, focusing on the history and hauntings of the old town, beginning and ending in haunted locations.
Want to explore Yuma but without the walking? This trolley tour leads you through Yuma’s historic district and gives visitors a chance to explore haunted areas while providing a detailed history of the city.
Tombstone is notorious for its bloody past and with that comes plenty of hauntings, especially along historic Allen Street. This tour takes you through ten haunted locations, including Big Nose Kate’s Saloon and the Birdcage Theatre.

The Old Pueblo is a haunted one. This two-hour tour walks you through some of the city’s haunted locations in the downtown sector and gives a nice overview of the history of the area.
