There is obviously something very special and unique about Alaska because visiting Alaska is pretty much on EVERYONE’S bucket list and it’s not hard to understand why – we have unique attractions that can’t be found in other states. But what people don’t often consider is LIVING in Alaska. My question is, why not? Alaska is really an underrated state and here are some of the biggest reasons why.

1) We're the masters of seafood.

Alaska offers fresh seafood year-round! Not surprising considering we dominate the fishing industry.
2) We're kind of a BIG deal... literally.

Don't underrate us because we're underpopulated. We happen to be the LARGEST state of them all!
3) In Alaska you can really stretch out and avoid the crowds.

Having the smallest population in the U.S. isn't a bad thing. In Alaska it's easy to get away from it all when the most densely populated city is less than 300,000 people.
4) When it comes to the oil industry, we pretty much dominate it.

The North Slope is mostly Tundra but it contains massive amounts of crude oil, you know... liquid gold.
5) In Alaska you'll fish with the best of us.

Alaska is a hot spot for the fishing industry. It's not only a big deal to tourists but it's a huge deal to the locals here. We live, breathe, and eat all that is fishing.
