Wildlife encounters can be quite the sight for sore eyes, especially in the last frontier. With an impressive number of massive bears, majestic moose, stoic Dall sheep, elusive wolves and mysterious lynx, your chances of catching one of these creatures roaming in their natural environment is incredibly high. But sometimes, ‘up close and personal’ becomes ‘too close for comfort’ at the drop of a dime. While freaking out inside, you must remain calm and show no fear.

What you will witness in the footage below will completely blow you away. This enormous grizzly bear walks right up into the viewing area at McNeil River State Game Refuge and basically takes a load off and soaks in the view with the guide (who is is probably not shaking in his boots, but we sure would be!) The best part? There is absolutely no zooming-in. The bear is actually as close to the camera as the video displays. Wait until the very end and you’ll get chills when you see that the grizzly and the human (who is actually a professional bear viewing guided named Drew Hamilton) were just an arms length apart. Yikes!
