This National Forest Is One Of Alabama’s Greatest Treasures
Here in Alabama, we’re incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such breathtaking scenery. Of all the scenic places here, one place in particular truly defines what this state is all about. This scenic place is none other than the Talladega National Forest.
The Talladega National Forest is located within the southern portion of the Appalachian Mountains and covers nearly 400,000 acres. If you're looking to escape the busyness of everyday life, a visit to the Talladega National Forest is a must.
Located within the Talladega National Forest is Cheaha State Park, one of Alabama's oldest state parks. Cheaha State Park is also home to Cheaha Mountain (pictured), Alabama's highest natural point. This majestic mountain produces Alabama's most incredible scenic views.
Many natural waterfalls are protected by the Talladega National Forest. Among these waterfalls are Cheaha Falls (pictured), Devil's Den Falls and High Falls. These three waterfalls are located within Cheaha State Park and are easily accessible.
The Talladega National Forest offers a variety of recreational opportunities such as hiking, fishing, camping and more. If you're a fan of the great outdoors, you'll enjoy exploring this forest. The Talladega National Forest is seriously an outdoorsman's paradise.
