Harrison Brothers Hardware was founded in 1879 by James B. Harrison and Daniel T. Harrison.

When Harrison Brothers Hardware first opened, it was operated as a tobacco shop. In 1897, the brothers purchased the hardware store's current building and began offering many more items. In 1902, they expanded into the adjoining building. In 1980, both buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
